ABSTRACT
Indonesia is a country rich in minerals. Potential Mine Indonesia consist of coal, oil and gas,
gold, tin, copper, nickel, etc., which are scattered in several regions of Indonesia, as well as in
West Sumatra. One mine-producing areas in West Sumatra is Sijunjung. The number of potential
natural resources such as minerals have led to many people who are interested in working in the
mining sector, one of them by becoming a miner. The high occupational risk faced by mine
workers led to the mine workers need more protection in ensuring safety at work. Safety is a
program created for the workers / laborers and employers for prevention (preventive) for the
incidence of occupational accidents and anticipatory action if such event occurs. As is the
personal protective equipment under Article 1 paragraph 1 Permenakertrans 8/2010 is a tool
that has the ability to protect a person whose function is to isolate part or the whole body of the
potential hazards in the workplace. Therefore this study discusses the implementation of work
safety protection for mine workers in Sijunjung.
